3 Months

Today Stihl is 3 months old! Seriously when did that happen??? This kid eats more than a horse literally! If he is awake than he is nursing, and I honestly think somebody is slipping him some Super Show Bloom. I took him with me to a livestock feeding clinic a few weeks ago, apparently he was listening a little to well!
I finally put him in his own room a few nights ago and I was secretly hoping he would wake up in the night so I could put him back in his little bed in our room but.. he slept all night like he always does! He is so super easy just eats and sleeps. Oh, and he stinks,really bad, like old nasty man stink. I don't know how such a sweet little boy can produce such a rank scent but he manages to do it, multiple times a day! Just thought I would share that bit of info! And yes, he looks more and more like Taytum everyday! LOVE this guy!

NFR

Last week we went took Stihl to his first NFR!Ryan and I only had two seats but the girls got lucky and Grandma and Grandpa Yardley had tickets for them also. They sat directly across the arena from us right above the box. It was so fun to watch them dance and shake there thing across the arena! Stihl sat like a little angel until after the team roping, then he pooped his pants and went right to sleep! We stopped at In-N-Out afterwards for a late dinner.It was a fun family date night!

Thanksgiving

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Milford with the Yardley's. Is was a nice quiet peaceful dinner with about 60 people!!!! Can you say Chaos!!We wouldn't have it any other way. Dinner was delicious as always and the kids had a great time playing with all their cousins they don't get to see often enough.

Ryan was able to take Tater to school for some special bonding time over breakfast. Tater loved it because she didn't have to ride the bus and Ryan loved it because he got to play on the monkey bars!

Elk Hunt 2011

The first week of November was my elk hunt and it was COLD! We left Friday morning and it snowed on the way up and all that day. We got the trailer and camp set up and went for a little drive to do some scouting but didn't see much. The hunt didn't open until Sunday so we had plenty of time to kill. If anything could have gone wrong on this trip.. it did! The water lines under the trailer froze (good thing I had a blow dryer),the solar on top of the trailer didn't charge the batteries because it was so cloudy, which meant we were running off the generator which kept shutting down. With no generator meant no furnace.... It was awful, but we managed and we stayed warm the whole time!!!! We spent most of Saturday just driving around. Thank goodness Grandpa Russell was able to come with us, he drove the pickup all over with the three kids and I while Ryan was out on the Rhino covering some country.We picked pinenuts, saw lots of deer, and watched movies all day. Ryan spotted a pretty nice 6x6 that afternoon but never saw him bed down that night. Sunday morning we were up before the sun, all the kids were in the truck with Grandpa, Ry and I on the rhino! That was the stupidest thing I have ever done in my life!...FREEZING... We saw 3 or 4 cows that day and that was it! Monday morning was the same story only I was not getting in the rhino, so we drove up the road just south of where we had been the day before. Right along the road was a bull and a spike with a bunch of cows. Perfect timing and my kind of hunting right from the truck! He wasn't big, but with two whiny girls and a newborn baby boy, and a husband that ate way to many chilli beans I will take it!!!!We had him loaded and headed back to camp by 6am!!!! We have been enjoying lots of elk burger, jerky and roast.
