Gunlock Day 2

Saturday morning we hung out and visited with Press and Di! It was fun to relax and not have to be anywhere. Ryan met up with Ty and Dale and went to Minersville to rope. The kids and I took the other horses and headed to Veyo. We stopped at Marv's for lunch, then went to Bowler's to hang out until the rodeo.Stihl got some good bonding time in with Uncle Carl! We headed down to Gunlock a little early to get a good parking spot and so the girls could catch a few craw dads! Ryan made it back about half way through the rodeo. We got to play with Trey man and visit with the Hafens! It brought back a lot of memories and was pretty fun! I was parked where Kim always used to park( I was sure missing her that night)that was the first time in I don't know how many years I didn't get to sit on the fence and drink a Pepsi with her!! ( even though I hate Pepsi!)
I'm going to miss her talks about life and the advice she always gave me!its so neat to see her sweet kids grow and I know she would be so proud of them all! She was the best mom, I hope I can be half the woman she was!
The girls both watched the chickens run right by again and they both had fun in the boot race! They made some new friends and had fun making mud pies late into the night! Ryan finally roped at about 1am, then we loaded up and headed home! Long fun weekend, glad we are still able to go enjoy Gunlock every year as a family !

Gunlock Rodeo

Friday after Ry got off work we hit the road for Gunlock. It's where Ryan and I met 11 years ago! CRAZY how time flies! Taytum was entered in the barrel race but had some bad luck. Poor girl made herself so nervous she about got sick. Both girls jumped in the chicken chase but I don't think they wanted a chicken to badly! They each had chickens running right by them but never even tried to grab em'! Fine with me.. Not a chicken fan! Ry roped late that night, then we loaded up and went to Enterprise to stay with the Walch's.

Fireworks

After a day at the lake we where all exhausted. Luckily we can see the fireworks show at the fairgrounds perfectly from Grandma and Grandpa Freis back yard. We bbq'd and made homemade ice cream. The kids let off some sparklers and played in the grass. Amazingly the temperatures were bearable outside, which is so rare in July. We had a great day with friends family and fireworks!!!

4th of July

The morning of the fourth we got up early and headed to the lake. All the Yardley's came this time, even Grandma and Grandpa! Our boat was having some technical difficulties so we all piled into Grandpa's! It was a cozy ride! The weather wasn't great so we only stayed out for a few hours. Long enough to tucker out the kids for a nice nap on the way home!

Lake Mead

We are spoiled living so close to the lake! This summer we have been taking full advantage of it! This was probably our second or third trip out and we got to go with the other Yard's! The kids all of course has a great time playing together!
