Truckin"

While am at home eating Ding Dongs and Twinkies everyday this is what my husband is busy doing! The past few days he has moved a rock truck, and this track hoe. Today he is busy moving a water pull. The construction in Vegas has slowed tremendously but he always finds something to do. We are so thankful for his work ethic and that he provides so well for our family! We love ya Ry!

April Gymkhana

Thought I better post these since April is just about gone and May's gymkhana is this weekend! Taytum did all the events by herself this month, and even attempted a trot , but she must have re-thought about it because she pulled right back as soon as Pete got comfy! She did tell me that she wants to trot by herself next time so... we will see! I have been taking her riding with me in the afternoons and I turn her loose in the arena and she just goes! I am so proud of her! After her fall last winter she has been very hesitant about going alone but she is slowly coming around! We just don't want to rush it! On a funny note...ALOT of the kids in Taytums age division ride these miniature horses. They are the fad right now and everybody has them, well except us! AND we will NOT be getting one, anyways, Pete thinks that they are steers and naturally spooks a little when he sees them coming towards him! Any smart horse knows to chase the steer, so that is what he does! We usually have to wait till most kids have had there turn and all the mini's are out of the way for Tater to go ahead and go!

Ammo Wanted...

Last night was the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation Dinner in Vegas, and we are now in need of some ammunition! Our table all bought the lucky raffle tickets this year! I won a 22. pistol to begin with, which I have been wanting very badly! The pistol that Ryan got me for Christmas is just not working for me and I have been begging him to get me a 22. Then, Ryan won a 22. and Jake won a gun(don't know what it is).As they were getting down to the bottom of the raffle Russell won a shotgun! So if you are planning on messing with the Yardley's bring it on- we will shoot your ass! We had a great time, but missed Toots, she should have come cause her husband needed some of her luck! Here's some pictures of the lucky winner's... and the not so lucky winner's!

Daddy Daughter Date

We went with Grandpa Russell's ward for the daddy daughter date this year to Sandy Valley. Adrianne, Lexi, Trisha, Josie, Tater , Fallon , and I  all rode out in the semi and "camped " in the trailer. We stayed on a "ranch", that is owned by an attorney in town and the first rule he made sure to tell us, while looking directly at me holding Fallon,  was "NO CRYING ON THE RANCH!" I gave him my famous glare and went on with enjoying his pet pigeons and bunnies! The girls enjoyed the trampoline and swings and ran wild! Grandpa fixed us some yummy BBQ Chicken and salad and we stayed up way to late eating popcorn and talking! It was some fun girl time and we are glad Grandpa took us all! Thanks Russell!

Fairly Fun...Stockshow and Rodeo

The fair has come and gone yet again!!! It seems to sneak up on me faster every year! I am so proud of my 4-H club this year! They all did an awesome job! Every one of them placed in showmanship and if you know me at all you know that is my game! Plus we had 3 Reserve Champions, a class champion and lots of market class placements! Oh yeah our club rocked all week in the barn! Ryan and Justin roped in the Sponsor Roping again this year, Well Justin did anyways- I think next year he needs to find a new heeler or switch ends! We had lots of fun despite the weather on Saturday, which for us was like a torrential downpour!!

Easter Morning

Our Easter celebration this year was short and sweet. With the fair in town we were hardly home and spent most of the day at the livestock barn. Sunday morning the girls were extra tired so we let them sleep in a little later. I ran up to the fairgrounds to get some stuff done and hurried back home to a little blond girl that had just walked out of her bedroom! We had to wake Fallon up, and then the fun began. They both loved there baskets and Tater found lots of eggs in the front yard that the bunny dropped! We didn't do the traditional Easter ham, this year it was more like- Funnel cakes, popcorn, chicken strips, hot dogs, frozen lemonade, ice cream, nachos, and corn dogs- yes all that in one day! Glad that doesn't happen every Easter!

Hippity Hoppity

Easter is on it's way!

Trisha and I and the girlie girlies went to the mall this afternoon. As we walked in Tater noticed this happy fella sitting downstairs! We hurried down the escalator with the double stroller just in time to find out he was going to eat some carrots for lunch! Oh but wait, the photographers watch was off by an hour- so we got first dibs in the line! The girls sat somewhat patiently waiting for there photo to be snapped! Josie got upset really quick and was having nothing to do with sitting on that furry white thing,so her mommy sat on a stool next to him. Lucky us the computer and camera was not cooperating so I hurried and whipped out my camera and started snapping as fast as I could! I hate to have to pay $25 bucks for a picture I can just as easily take myself! The girls each got a set of bunny ears and we were out of there! It was our lucky day!
