First day of Kindergarten Fun

This morning Tater came in my room before I was out of bed and asked, " Mom, when will the bus be here to get me?" She was all dressed in one of her new outfits, and ready for me to do her hair!
She rode her bike to the bus stop, then off she went! Fallon, Grandma S and I met her at the school to make sure she made it and she did! She told me it was freezing on the bus and that her new shoes came untied. She played on the playground for a few minutes then into the classroom they all went.
We met her this afternoon at the bus stop again and she rode her bike back home. As she was telling me about her day she remembered that her teacher gave her some M&M's and she left them on the bus. Poor girl broke down into a hysterical cry and sat on her bed bawling over her M&M's! I promised her I would take her to get some more tomorrow! Next time she will remember to put everything in her backpack.She also told me that all the big kids on the bus in the afternoon would not let her sit down and kept pushing her! She said she stood the whole way home! That girl can sure tell some serious stories!!! We are so proud of our Tater Bug and the big girl that she is becoming, although I would like to freeze time I am a pretty proud mommy!

Joe Yardley Reunion

On Friday August 6 we arrived at The Pallisades State Park for our family Reunion! It was so good to see everybody even though it had only been a week since we had been gone. There is just something about being with your own family that makes everything right!



We had a great camp site on the asphalt that kept us all clean and the kids rode there bikes and scooters everywhere! We were conveniently located between the bathrooms and the camp host who had it out for us as soon as we pulled in! Long story short, he was very good buddies with the park ranger and Grandpa's Rhino is not registered in Utah, nor did all the kids under 18 have helmets! But no worries, we out staked him!
Aunt Leanne kept the kids entertained with tons of arts and crafts all weekend! She even borrowed someones bounce house! They all had a near death experience when some one tripped on the power cord and deflated it within seconds but all is good!! And they went right back to bouncing!




Fallon found a new friend named Skip! Skip's mom let Fallon take him for walks and give him a treat! She was pretty proud of herself and was sad when she had to leave him!

On Saturday afternoon the kids all went Fishing! They caught so many surprises that they are still pulling out new stuff to play with! Thanks Aunt Leanne and Grandma Verlene for all the prizes!






Sunday morning the dads and kids all went down to the reservoir to go for a swim, the water was not what we are used to but still refreshing!








So thankful for the wonderful family we have been blessed with, and glad we were all able to get together and enjoy each others company! Great end to a wonderful vacation!

Yardley Family Summer Vacation

Day One
After a full day of packing bags, loading the horse trailer and turning it into our temporary home we loaded the horses,Jersey, Max and Cadillac and started on our adventure! We drove to Cedar for the night and the girls got to play with there cousins and take a bubble bath in Grandma's huge tub!

Day Two
Ryan woke up at 4am to start driving, us girls jumped in the truck in our Jammie's and crashed. Except for Fallon, she kept daddy company for a few hours by jabbering his ears off! We stopped in Ogden to unload the horses and grab some lunch. When we got the horses out we found that Max had about a 2 inch incision on his lip. We think he got his head down under the divider and one of the other horses got him good. There was blood everywhere and it kept coming. After cleaning up that mess, we tied his head up and got back on the road! We arrived in Blackfoot, Idaho at about 1:30 and the girls could not wait to get out of the truck to see Challis! We stayed at our friends The Tibbitt's house. That afternoon the girls played in the pool and jumped on the trampoline with the sprinkler! Ryan went with Ben to a rodeo somewhere, and us girls stayed home and played and BBQ'd hotdogs! That night it rained and rained! It was actually pretty fun to sleep in the trailer and listen to the storm.



Day Three
Saturday morning Ryan and Ben went to a rodeo in Ft. Hall, Id.I went to a barrel race in Idaho Falls. The girls stayed with Jordan and Challis and played and played! Poor Jordan was a little overwhelmed with all our craziness, but I sure appreciate her watching the girls!Ryan's partner missed and my horse worked like crap, but I ended up getting a check. We met back up in Blackfoot and then headed off to Pinedale, WY. After four hours in the truck we were all glad to get there. Our friends Josh and Sara Harber live there so we went for a visit, grabbed some dinner and then hit the hotel room!





Day Four
Happy Birthday RYAN!!!Sunday morning the girls wanted to sleep so we let them. Bye the time they woke up breakfast was over so we went straight to the pool and lucky for us we were the only ones there! After a couple of hours of swimming we got cleaned up, had some lunch and then drove over to watch Ryan rope in Big Piney, WY! It was a late night so when we got back to the room we had some birthday cake and crashed!






Day Five
We went to the Cowboy Shop and found Ryan a new hat that he got shaped to perfection!
The girls put about ten dollars worth of quarters in a fake horse and entertained themselves for a good hour!
We rode in the truck with Ryan to Hoback Junction where he got in with Ben and went to Grace, Id. for another roping. Us girls followed Jordan and her kids to Jackson Hole!!! We found the fairgrounds, unloaded and watered the horses then went into town for some much needed shopping! The girls found the candy store and loaded up on sugar to buzz them for the rest of the day. Found some cute t-shirts and a cap for Ry! Jordan even found a shop that wants to sell her cuffs! She does some amazing leather work so it was no surprise. After we (Tater) posed by the antlers for some pics, we picked up the horses and headed back to Idaho. That was the longest three hour drive of my life! I think the girls watched Barney 14 times, and asked where there daddy was about 114 times! Sure is some pretty country and lots of dry farming, very different from our brown dry desert! But I wouldn't trade our winters for it!






Day Six
Tuesday was kinda of a slow day. After driving so much the day before the girls just wanted to play, so that's what we did! Ryan went to Downey. Id to rope AGAIN! He did lots of that this trip and had a great time. The girls and I went into town and had lunch at Winger's, cruised around Wally World, visited the Potatoe Museum, and went to the park for a few hours! That evening we watched Challis and had a pizza party while Jordan was gone.





Day Seven
Ryan and Ben wanted to break in some new steers so the girls and I tagged along! Fallon rode her horse and threw a huge fit when it was time to get off! The girls played in the dirt for a while and rode the horses. We were all starving so we found a drive-in called Rupe's in with yummy burgers, strips and ice cream! That afternoon there was a barrel race in Pocatello. It was probably the dustiest arena I have ever been too! I had such an awful run that we loaded up and left before it was even over. I later found out I won a check at that one too! What a surprise that was!

Day Eight
This was the day the girls had been looking most forward too! We drove to Rexburg to Bear World. Both girls were so excited to see the bears. Honestly I was too! The deer and elk were of no intrest to anybody in our truck, simply beacuse that's all Ryan thinks about besides roping! It was so neat to see all the bears up close. We drove through the park, hit up the rides, got a snow cone, then went through the park again! Fallon loved the buffalo almost as much as the bears!












After Bear World we went back to Idaho Falls to find the Temple. We found the visitors center and they just happend to have a display there that came directly from Washington D.C.The elders said that they have had over 20,000 visitors in the past month come to see this display about the constillations and space. It was pretty neat to see the pictures and read the scriptures that went along with them. The girls got bored pretty quickly so Ryan took Fallon outside while Taytum and I played on the computer and listened to children answer questions about Jesus and our Heavenly Father. She thought that was pretty cool and said that was her favorite part of the temple!




That afternoon we stopped at Olive Garden for a late lunch, early dinner. Then drove back to Blackfoot, but not without a detor to Idaho's largest army surplus store! When we got back to town we made another trip to Rupe's for Ice cream, then back to the trailer to hook up and load stuff for our trip to the family reunion!!! See Previous post...
